Sinopse

Bud (Kevin Costner) é uma dessas pessoas que além de pai solteiro, é descompromissado com a vida e tem como tarefas obrigatórias assistir TV, pescar e beber. Vive com sua filha Molly, uma jovem sonhadora que busca aprender coisas novas a cada dia e tenta fazer com que seu pai mude o estilo de vida e se torne mais ativo. Numa dessas tentativas, a garota coloca o pai em uma grande enrascada e o futuro do país ficará nas mãos do grande cara de pau que, pela primeira vez, em anos, precisará olhar as coisas com um pouco menos de sarcasmo. Será que Bud conseguirá cumprir essa tarefa?
